Aerospace Applications

ATI’s product portfolio embraces hardware, software and associated 3rd party products designed to enhance the efficient development of control systems (ECUs) for aerospace applications, including jet and piston engine aircraft, helicopters, drones and airships.

ATI’s wide range of automotive control system development tools includes ECU Interfaces, low and high-voltage Data Acquisition modules and I/O Hardware, CANbus interfaces, plus Test Cell powertrain measuring equipment, including PICOTURN turbo speed sensors. The firm’s portfolio of powerful, user-friendly software products includes packages for Calibration/Data Acquisition, (VISION) ECU Rapid Control Prototyping (No-Hooks / OnTarget) and CANbus communication (CANLab.)

Key components controlled by ECUs in aircraft engines include fly by wire throttle, multi-spark ignition and electronic fuel injection systems that all require precise calibration to produce peak performance and efficiency. ATI’s VISION software package adds significant value in these development scenarios, offering a fully integrated calibration and data acquisition tool that collates signals from ECUs and external sources and allows for real-time calibration and modification of closed loop control systems making it a perfect solution for aircraft, helicopters and drone engines.

In this case older propellor planes uses standard ICE engines. VISION can be used to interface with the control units for these engines. Two EMXs are connected to a range of sensors (CAM sensors, thermocouples etc.) with the ECU also connected on CAN. All going into a single CANARY-FD.
