Newly Released VISION 3.8.2 Offers Future Product Support and Extended API Capabilities
September 12, 2014
Accurate Technologies is pleased to announce the newly release version of VISION. VISION version 3.8.2 highlights include added support for upcoming ATI products and targeted development on enhancing VISION’s API (Application Programming Interface) to allow further customization for VISION customers to tailor VISION to their needs. As with every release, VISION 3.8.2 includes updates to other key areas such as the VISION Installer.

New Product Support
In anticipation of the release of a new USB-to-CAN interface later this year, VISION 3.8.2 already includes support for new ATI devices developed to handle the high busload demands of calibration and data acquisition including ATI’s EMX Series Data Acquisition devices. VISION 3.8.2 also expands the compatibility of the A8 Serial Interface Module with newer Synchronous Data Acquisition methods.

| In the ATI tradition, the AVL KMA Mobile Fuel Measurement System can now be used with VISION by simply adding it to the VISION Device tree. The KMA System is a high precision measurement hardware used to measure vehicle fuel consumption on the road and on chassis dynamometers. |

API/COM Interface Enhancements
Focus was given to add functionality to VISION’s API / COM interface with this release. Scripts have extended access to more areas of VISION including importing and exporting files, device interfaces, CAN Monitors and Screen Objects. External programs can now use the API to import and export not only parameter templates, but also calibration data in all of the exporting formats available in VISION such as ATI CAL, MATLAB MAT, and DCM. Device Interfaces can now be enabled/disabled to auto download to a device or quick load for Flashing and Download to a device (if supported) as just a few examples.
Extensive API access has been added to VISION Screen Objects. Features specifically for Recorders/Stripchart Recorders added the ability to set a marker in an active recording, find a channel and provide an interface for manipulation of the item, find a channel by name, and return the "Total Recording Time" of a recorder file. Access to other Screen Objects includes State Tables, State Arrays, the running value of any 2D or 3D Table, and CAN Trace screen objects.
For VISION data items improvements include access to virtual scalars and raw values of a data item, and the ability to create ASAP3Scalers, J1939 Monitor parameters, and calibration comments (and the ability to edit them). The API can now call the Select Data Item dialog where the user can choose one or more data items to be passed back to the calling code.
See the updated VISION API User Manual v4.1 that is also included in VISION 3.8.2 for details of all new functions.
VISION Installer Upgrade
The VISION Installer was updated to provide more information and control during installation. This includes selecting the VISION and Rapid Prototyping Software to be installed together or separately. This allows just the Rapid Prototyping Software to be installed later with a different version of MATLAB.
