ATI Presents a Rapid Prototyping History as a Lesson for the Future at the Automotive Testing Show Brazil. Accurate Technologies Inc. (ATI) will present a paper discussing a brief history of rapid prototyping and considerations when benchmarking these tools at the first Automotive Testing Show in Brazil on August 2-3, 2012. During the show, ATI will also demonstrate its full line of products at their stand. Software-centric prototyping for electronic control unit (ECU) development has been around for many years. Typically, the tools were so complex it required experts to use them effectively. Now, as tools are evolving and easier to use, more developers can capitalize on the cost and time savings realized by using software rapid prototyping. Products with the ability to perform simulations without hardware, experimentation, or testing, before committing to production software, are becoming more mainstream. When these tools are available, users should evaluate their true flexibility. Some offer built-in hooks that negate the rapid response necessary with unforeseen changes during development; whereas, others truly provide that functionality to their users. |
