ImageThe area of On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) development and verification is becoming more complex. No-Hooks Rapid Prototyping enables you to test and verify OBD algorithms faster and cheaper than ever before.

For example, safety critical algorithms including Electronic Throttle and X-by-Wire features require redundancy checks including verification that the memory of the microcontroller is functioning correctly. No-Hooks enables the simulation of a RAM corruption condition by disabling the ECU from writing to a given RAM address and inserting any value into the RAM location.

In the development of diagnostics, sensor or actuator faults need to be simulated to test if the ECU software responds correctly or to see if the appropriate failure algorithm is activated. With No-Hooks and VISION Scripting you can record the vehicle pedal input for a given test and then feed the recorded pedal position data back into the pedal position RAM variable in the ECU to repeat the same test. This use of No-Hooks performs the function of a robot driver that controls the throttle pedal without any additional hardware!
