The majority of new or next generation development is based on current designs. Using existing ECUs as development platforms is a much lower cost alternative for development when no pre-defined software hooks are needed. ATI's No-Hooks tool provides the ability to layer in additional functionality to existing algorithms for "in-line" prototyping. Experiment, evolve and finally demonstrate these new ideas on existing hardware in existing vehicles. At relatively low cost, new ideas become more persuasive as management actually experiences new features or new performance.
