VID Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How many VIDs can be active at once? A. One VID can be active at a time.
Q. Where can I get software needed for the VID?
A. All necessary software files can be found on the ATI Support Website at http://support.accuratetechnologies.com/
Q. Can the VID display static data items such as date, time or text or dynamic data items such as parameters, graphs or constants?
A. The VID can display both static and dynamic data items. Please note that to change a dynamic item to a static item, first delete the dynamic item and then add a static item. Changing the item without deleting it first may cause errors.
Q. Can the VID be used without connection to a PC (as a stand-alone unit)?
A. Yes, the VID’s Standalone functionality enables you to display data from a number of ATI hardware devices and CCP devices. Once the VID and devices supported in Standalone have been configured, the Standalone allows you to disconnect VISION from the system enabling the VID to continue displaying accurate data from supported devices. A VISION Network Hub equipped with a VNI2+ card is required for VID stand-alone functionality. In addition, the VNI2+ card provides the capability to record data without a PC.
Q. How do I determine the meaning of the LEDs on the VID?
A. The information page allows you to see data item assigned to the alarm LEDs. If the device sourcing the data item for the Alarm LED is offline, you see the data item name and the following line „---„ being alternately displayed on the Information Page.
Q. What accessories and connections are needed for the VID?
A. The VID requires the use of the VISION Hub and a custom cable. The Hub provides communication with VISION software and other CAN network devices. The custom VID cable provides power and communication between the Hub and the VID.
Important: The VID only requires one custom cable. The VID uses a LEMO-type connector, it is possible to force other cables onto the VID. Do not attempt to use any cables other than the VID’s cable to avoid damage to the VID or other equipment.
