CANLab Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is there maintenance on CANLab?
A. Yes, CANLab has an annuals maintenance that is 20% of the list price. The annual maintenance entitles you to access the ATI support portal for service packs and upgrades to the CANLab software.

Q. Does CANLab support Local Interconnect Network (LIN)?
A. Yes, the current release of CANLab v2006 SP1 includes support for both Local Interconnect Network (LIN) and J1939.

Q. I'm already using another bus analysis software package, why should I buy CANLab?
A. In order to get all the features available to you in ATI's CANLab most competitors require you to upgrade to a more expensive package. Even upgrade pricing on other packages is more expensive than ATI's CANLab.

Q. I have scripts already created. Can I reuse my scripts?
A. Many functions that may have required scripts can be accomplished in CANLab without any scripting. If you do still require a script, you need to use CANLab's built-in C# scripting language. The scripting language ships with CANLab at no additional cost. If you have programmed in an object oriented environment then you can write scripts in CANLab.

Q. What affects CANLab performance?
A. CANLab allows the user to configure their workspace to the way they work. As with any software application, increasing the objects on the screen can slow CANLab performance.
