The Latest 3.7.2.3 Version of VISION Calibration and Data Acquisition Software is available now.

Accurate Technologies, Inc. (ATI) has released version 3.7.2.3 of its VISION Calibration and Data Acquisition Software. This edition focused on enhancements that added convenience features for every user and further file protection for power users. The list includes adding a Resource Indicator, changes to the DAT file saving method, enhancements to the Calibration Manager and Stripchart Recorder, and expansion of hardware support.

Adding an Ounce of Prevention
VISION has added further protection for software exception due to Windows system resources limitations. Exceptions can occur to users who have large numbers of files open, such as several large project and recorder files. To help avoid application failures, the Resource Indicator has been added to the Status toolbar of the VISION Window.

VISION constantly monitors key Windows system memory variables and displays an indicator color as follow:

Image

  • Green: Sufficient resources are available.
  • Yellow: Resources are running low.
  • Red: Resources are dangerously low; opening more files or adding more screen objects could cause a problem
  • Flashing Red:  Resources are close to limits; close files or screen object.

Auto-archiving of Environmental Settings
VISION now automatically creates backup files when saving .DAT files. This functionality assists in retention of environmental preferences. The enhancements to the Layout Manager (used to auto-configure recorded data views) allow the immediate saving of individual Layout files and the entire collection of templates. In addition, the VISION Recent Project list displayed under the File tab saves ‘on open’ of projects whereas previously it was ‘on close’. This change allows restoration of the project in the event of an exception. Additionally the full path name is displayed to assist users in identifying the proper files where redundant names are used.

Enhanced Calibration Manager
ImageFilters can now be applied to the Calibration Manager in new strategic ways. Previously created filter files (CFF), selected from the Comparison Dropdown menu’s Filters selection can be chosen singularly or as an entire file folder. An example for using the file folder option is to create filters for each user and then apply as needed. Additionally, a quick filter can now be applied to Comparison Table from the Auto Filter Row by typing characters in the Auto Filter Row and the rows containing those characters will be listed.

Stripchart Recorder Enhancements
ImageThe Stripchart Recorder default settings have been changed to ensure the retention of Y-Axis scaling manual adjustments made by the user between arming events. Experienced users can still modify these settings based on their needs. Further performance improvements for plotting APOLLO post processing data and the Stripchart Recorder live data includes faster recording file load times and smoother live data plots. In addition, a Total Item count has been added to the cursor time pane to provide users a total count for data items added to that particular Strip Chart Recorder Object.

Ever Expanding Compatibility
As with each release, VISION 3.7.2 expands its compatibility with more partner hardware including:

Image
  • Support for A7/A7B Serial interface support for the Renesas (NEC) V850 processor family
  • Support for Vector CAN Hardware for 64-bit Operating Systems (requires the current Vector CAN XL driver library)
  • Support for the Fujitsu FR80 processor to the ATI Rapid Prototyping No-Hooks OnTarget suite
